Lunch Menus are now available at http://www.ucf.k12.pa.us/district/food Big News for the Cafeteria! The computerized Point of Sale system is up and active at Unionville Elementary! What is a Point of
Sale System? Point of Sale is a system that will allow the cafeteria to meet certain federal guidelines regarding menu planning. It is also used to eliminate the need for cash on a daily basis. How does it work?
An account is set up for your child so that he/she can purchase lunch or other items in the cafeteria without having cash everyday. The parent sends in money to be placed in the student's account. As the student purchases lunch or other items, the system will automatically deduct the amount from the account. How does my child use
his/her account? When the student enters the cafeteria, they decide what they want to eat just like they do now. Instead of the meal tickets, the student will have a bar coded card to give to the cashier at the end of the line. The cashier records what the student has on the tray and the student just goes to their seat to enjoy their lunch! When the account balance gets low, a note will be sent home to the parent so that the account can be replenished. The parent can also
determine whether the student may purchase lunch only or
lunch and snacks on a daily basis.
