The Academically Talented (A.T.) program at Unionville Elementary School is designed to meet the needs of students identified as gifted learners. Students participate in activities which foster problem solving as well as critical and creative thinking skills. Furthermore, students engage in independent activities which expand their academic talents. Group thematic units also afford students the opportunity to delve deeply into unique subject matter. Students also engage in academic competitions such as the Continental Math Leauge, Chester County Reading Olympics and the Stock Market Game.

Students meet in the A.T. classroom twice during a six day cycle. One session of 75 minutes features thematic instruction and problem solving. The second class meeting focuses upon individual goal setting where students create an action plan. The action plan helps students plan long term goals, short term goals and establish deadlines in reaching their academic goal.
